SINGAPORE: Some 900 passengers were affected Wednesday afternoon when northbound train services between Woodlands and Marsiling MRT stations were delayed by 20 minutes.

According to SMRT, this was due to a train fault at about 2.25pm.

As a result, passengers had to alight from the defective train at Marsiling and the subsequent train behind it at Woodlands.

Passengers on the affected trains and stations were kept informed through announcements.

Luckily woodlands station got center siding, they can either pull or push the defective train by using another healthy train to the center siding and both bound can continue normal operation. LTA will fine SMRT $20,000 for 20 mins delay. hehe
