iPhone app will warn you when the 'Summon Auntie' is near

On Aug 9, an iPhone application was launched to alert drivers when the 'summons auntie' is near. Aptly named 'Summon Auntie', is this app legal, asks STOMPer Summonauntie.

Said the STOMPer (Aug 16):

"iPhone application warns drivers against summons.

"'Summon Auntie' is an iPhone application launched on August 9 by some Singapore drivers.

"This application enables drivers to 'escape' from paying summons through alerts.

"Drivers who spot the 'summons auntie/uncle' would press the alert button and other drivers 1km away from that location would be alerted.

"This is a very innovative application whereby Singaporean drivers can help each other by warning others from getting any possible fines.

"However, is this legal? If this is, I urge others to download this application so that there will be more news on 'summon aunties' and more people can avoid being fined."

Whether it's "legal" in that shithole is immaterial. Steve the Almighty has given it his blessing or it wouldn't be available on the app store. Steve's decrees are all that matters.

I used a radar detector from the early 80s till the day I left the country. It saved my skin numerous times. However, I had to be very careful to keep it well concealed as the penalty for being caught with one was hefty.

For a person who would resort to using such device like a radar detector, this surely says ALOT about the type of character you are, doesn't it?

Is use less. 1 km radius is very big. How many car park will be in within distance. Best still coffeshop owner/shop looking up for their customer by shouting.

Nuh that's too late already. By that time the offending odors would have caused insurmountable damage and deep pyschological damage. an app that can detect skins from a mile off would be much much better.
