Consumer can decide to take loan or use their credit card.

I usually limit my credit card use to paying for goods I'm buying via the internet, paying for flights & hotels.
Banks stick all typrs of service fees e.g. when you charge in US$. The airlines will charge a $20+ processing fee if you are paying by credit card.

The worse fees kick in if you don't pay your credit card bill in full. That is why I have always paid my bill in full

Its' not surprising at all... with interest rates for deposits going up, you would also expect the interest rates for loans to go up. They go up or down in the same direction.

The PAP govt, and the MAS, is tightening the monetary system. Maybe it is for the election, maybe it is for curbing speculation.

If you're dining out at a restaurant and have to use a credit card, try to use one which has discounts for that restaurant.

You can also use a debit card for online transactions.

IF I shop at Sim Lim or some shop selling clothes and shoes, I prefer to use NETS with my ATM card.

Nowadays when I eat out in Spore it is only at food courts. It is only when I am overseas that I eat at restaurants. I don't enjoy eating in Spore because of the crowds, high prices & poor service. That is why I have no problem sticking to my diet while I am in Spore

I prefer to use cash because of the potential problems of credit card skimming. It is also easier to limit your spending when you are using cold hard cash as oppose to charging when you feel the pain only at the end of the month.
