SINGAPORE: A commercial diver who habitually smoked cannabis or "marijuana", purportedly to relieve the back pain he experienced due to his job, was sentenced to nine years' jail on Monday (Oct 25) for drug offences including possessing about 2.4kg of the drug.

Muhammad Haikal Mohamadan, 31, pleaded guilty to three charges including drug consumption, possession of a Class A controlled drug and possession of drug utensils. A fourth charge was considered in sentencing.

Thailand has ordered more than 100 drugs including cocaine, morphine and opium decriminalized for medical and research use.
The sale and possession of 102 substances classified as Category 2 drugs by the 1979 Narcotics Act may be sold or used under very specific limitations, according to a proclamation in yesterday’s Royal Gazette. The new regulations will come into effect in July 2021.

Marijuana is medicine n all medicines have their uses. N marijuana is good for pain relief however the main thing is follow the science n ensure its not abused. N right now medical marijuana has always been dumb down by the powers that be due to self interest by medical corporations in promoting their own pain killers n surgeries etc
