They should have turned Batam into their new capital.

No shame having the capitals of two countries close to each other, refer to the two Congos in Africa.

They got the location all wrong. It should have been pulau karimun or nearby, but not batam. That way, investors will be attracted to the location along a trade rout and easy link to huge land mass of sumatra and nearby trading and business centres.
To create a new capital in the jungle away from businesses means gomen will need to spend first before others move in. And location is not so conducive.
They chose the location to be centrally located in indonesia, but it is in a undevelop region.

Thats why it will be cheap to develop. Even Intel wants to build wafer fab in a small village called Magdeburg in Germany. Wtf
