Indian Rojak, Anyone?

On doing everything at the same river in the ancient days, it should be noted that the population density was a lot less than it is now. Therefore, discharges had a better chance of being broken down by nature before someone else picked it up.

Commercially made soap is about a century old but soaps in various forms have been around a long time (since Babylonian times). It is also a myth that humans regularly exposed to bacteria were stronger. Indeed, it was the opposite - peoples who managed to clean their environments lived longer and thrived. Take the invention of ceramics for example. Though aesthetic, the main contribution was ceramics (porcelains) provided a cleanable surface on which to serve food. Well, the people that invited that has the largest population on earth.

Animals don't need dentistry largely because their dental features are different. Many (e.g. rodents) have continuously growing teeth while others have such thick enamel, the animals are likely to have been killed by something else before they suffer sufficient decay to cause trouble.

And just in case you thought that ancient peoples did not have teeth trouble, a visit to the mummy's exhibition would tell you that one of the leading causes of death in ancient Egypt was complications due to tooth decay.

There are many reasons why humans have different levels of tolerance from animals. One of them might well be that much of the energy in our bodies is directed at nourishing our brains instead of fighting off infections associated with bacterial and other infections.

Reminisce about ancient days when our ancestors drink from and shit/pee into the same river and survived long enough to produce later ancestors and down the line resulting in us. Notice that soap and detergent weren't invented until last century. They didn't even wash or bathe properly by today's standard. One very good example of human biological regression is that animals don't need dentistry and don't need to wipe their backside.

Humans lost immunity to bacteria somewhere down the line because of being too hygenic. The stray dogs and cats and crows and pigeons eat rubbish and drink drainage water. Still running and flying happily.
