Fact is there is a rape case every 20mins in India. Even their people took to the streets to protest, cant take the high sexual crimes anymore. So in this case, their nationality has something to do with the type of crime. Probably shaped by culture and lax enforcement of laws, but undeniably rampant.

You might be right , but don't forget India population are high .. So there's bound to be lots of problems .. Yes their own ppl also protest .. Which means rape is still not accepted in their country . I don't think it's shape by culture ... Which culture in the world that promote rape ... Insane man rape every 20 mins. Not every country has strict laws in fact most countries have lax laws line Thailand for eg yet you don't hear of Thai men raping their women that frequently shows that kelings are natural rapists

Couple of points on issues raised by drifter and others.

1) Though I am sure we all agree that all countries have criminals, culture does play a part. India is stratified by caste system. The traditional outlook is that females do have a secondary role in society. It is not only India but the middle east also treats women badly but unlike India the Arabs consider their women as personal property and will not tolerate damage to their "goods" They however well known for abusing their females including maids.

2) These sort of crimes where society allows it to happen in well known in places like China where the lower income are exploited, their land and possessions taken are also well known. PRC mayors and Police chiefs treats their remit as personal fiefdoms. Their children can be found all over the 1st world living the good life.

3) We and the 1st world must make our displeasure known and that we will not tolerate this kind of systemic abuse. With sufficient pressure and shame brought to bear, there will be changes.

In essence, these are not the usual crimes and these should not be tolerated by the international community. This is not about chasing criminals but demanding the politicians, leaders and police and enforcement chiefs do their work for which they are paid. It is the system and culture and not the criminals that are the issues.

In Singapore and many countries, a rape victim does not get the blame and more likely than not, justice will be done. It is not the same in India. Imagine a cabinet minister had to apologise after commenting that these are women that have painted faces and go to discos. He obviously apologised when it turned out that there was national outrage. You tell me which cabinet in which country will make such a comment involving a rape of this nature. Fucking morons.

Lax law enforcement also plays a part but when you compare it to other countries say Thailand for example where law is also prettylax and the police are corrupt but yet there are much fewer rapes this proves that lax law enforcement isn't one of the main causes.

Not only does India have prostitution they have prostitutes dedicated in the name of their goddess. I'm not sure if the law officially allows prostitution but there are many sex workers in India and Thailand officially bans prostitution but its still so widespread so its the same thing in India too.

Six held over rape of woman in Delhi charged with murder: police

(Reuters) - Six suspects held in connection with the rape of a woman in India have been charged with murder after she died on Saturday of injuries sustained in the attack, police said.

"They have been charged (with murder)," said Rajan Bhagat, a spokesman for New Delhi police.

The 23-year-old woman, who was gang-raped on a New Delhi bus on December 16, died in hospital in Singapore. The attack has sparked protests and a national debate about violence against women. All six suspects in the rape have been arrested and are in custody.

Indian subcontinent does not mean india the country since nepal wasn't a part of india so buddha didn't come from india. Pretty straightforward. just like indian ocean does not belong to india right? South china sea doesn't belong to china.

The 23-year-old had been airlifted to Singapore for treatment for brain and other injuries after being attacked, but doctors were unable to save her.
She had been repeatedly raped, had an iron rod shoved into her body causing severe organ damage, and was beaten about the body and head.

Dr Kevin Loh, chief executive of Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, announced her death last night, saying: “She was courageous in fighting for her life for so long against the odds but the trauma to her body was too severe for her to overcome.”
