I rented my condo apartment to a GM of an Indian bank for $3800 , after 2 + 2 years he moved out when his contract expired . During hand over , the parquet floor was badly damaged , queen size bed that he slept on with his Wife was heavily stained black with moods on the mattress . The fridge was in such a mess with greenish fungi and black moods on the rubber linings besides curry powder on the shelves and plastic compartments. Likewise the stove with all four burners were in bad shape and stained , they were not properly maintained air cleaned at all ! Worst still the toilet bowls were heavily stained yellow and smelly . I almost could not recognise my apartment after renting out to a GM !
When I told him his rental deposit will be deducted to pay for the damages , he said it was normal wear and tear refusing to pay for the repairs. When I declined he instructed his secretary to call me for negotiation , I told her to come over to take a look herself at the damage to my apartment but she requested me to be forgiving . I then told her if you were in my position you will hit the roof and will not agree to let him off for being such an irresponsible tenant.
After this experience , I stopped my agent from leasing out my apartment to Indians , although this is unfair to all Indians but he has damaged the image and integrity of all Indians .
