<!-- message -->I am a foreigner myself and worked for a company in UOB Centre in Raffles Place.
It is indeed very surprising how the company recruits fresh graduates and mid level professionals from India in the droves. Hundreds of em....all come in as S pass holders, then convert to PR. I sincerely feel that the 'local' students must be given priority because otherwise it will lead to a demographic imbalance in society. moreover, most of these expats have absolutly no ettiquette and consideration for others as its a dog-eat-dog world out there in India. If the govt does not step in and take concreate measures then Spore will see some backlash in this regard.

clementi, This is very true. Recently, my friend VP changes to a foreigner. The company is in a process to hire a manager here. Immediate that is stopped as the VP already has someone in mind to take that job. You can’t blame them, right? If you are a VP, and you are in a foreign land, don’t you like to have someone you know to work for you? It is even better that he is your loyal friend.

It isn’t the residents that are feeling pressurized. Even the earlier batch of PRs are feeling the same too. I have a friend. He is from Hong Kong. He was retrenched few years ago. Now, he is working as cab driver. He is selling his HDB and going back Hong Kong. Why? Even cab drivers are too many now!

Yes you are right and truth on this as my ex-company got Director (PRC) who appointed his own (all 2 of them) to come here as Manager after 2 local Singaporeans Manager resigned !!!!!

Some more their performance really only know how to follow instructions and not know how to do work as long as they obey and assign to us locals loh. This is what our Govt want "Productivites performances"

so don't believe in their craps in parliaments wayang show as they don't know what is going on in individual companies and just only use their "big mouth"

Especially that NTUC Secretary General LimSY who last year claimed when he look at his millionaire CPF account he is happy !!! Also how can a ruling regime minister be inside a union representing workers ??? This is only our unique system they claim then had..

I've been chatting to some young uni/poly students and this some of their thinking:
Why bother to work when you face unfair hiring discrimination at the workplace? Why bother slogging so hard when you can always try your luck at the 2 new casinos?
I hope it's only a phase. If not then Singaporeans are doomed.
