Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine less effective in ages 5-11

NEW YORK (REUTERS) - Two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine was protective against severe disease in children aged 5 to 11 during the recent Omicron variant surge, but quickly lost most of its ability to prevent infection in the age group, according to a study by New York State researchers.

The vaccine's efficacy against infection among those children declined to 12% at the end of January from 68% in mid-December compared to kids who did not get vaccinated, according the study, which has not yet been peer reviewed.

According to the same report, the protection turns "negative" in fifth and sixth week.

A graph showing age against absolute number of reports filed to VAERS according to doses 1, 2 and 3 of the COVID-19 vaccines.
There are too many issues with the youth.

My biased opinions:
For Covid-19 vaccine guidelines, the most transparent governments are South Korea and Japan. Due to MOH's bias towards Pfizer & Moderna, our local press intentionally not clarifies that Sinovac and Sinopharm are acceptable boosters. If MOH don't recognize Sinovac or Sinopharm as boosters, China will probably ban all flights from Singapore.

If we have the luxury of time, newer vaccine-technologies such as Valneva and T-cell vaccines will offer safer and longer protections.

Moreover, vaccinations do not prevent us from COVID-19 infections. However, we are now forced to take boosters, therefore my personal take is to take the safest option, just to clock the mileage so that we will not lose our jobs.
lucky got China stressing on Sg.if not moh will never accpet sino and sinophram as valid.then we kena mrna gao gao to jurong bird park.

Israel's latest study: Protection from 4th jab or 2nd booster drop quickly after four weeks and nearly disappeared after eight weeks.

Protection by a Fourth Dose of BNT162b2 against Omicron in Israel

Protection against confirmed infection appeared short-lived, whereas protection against severe illness did not wane during the study period.
