STI index is still artificially high, it should at around 2800 to be realistic with the present local economy condition. Even when the crisis is over, our ST index shouldn't climb up too high as our competitiveness is an long outstanding issue, unless the property price drop by al least 30% to make our business cost lower
STI and KLSE have huge amount of gahmen funds that prevents it from being volatile.

It could well be 30% to 40%.

I've had a number of stocks that I have bought taking a contrarian approach that made me 200% in 6 months.

However my target is still 10%. It's a formula that has worked for me over the years so I stick to it.

I guess my point is I couldn;t be bothered to watch the market and research a couple of stocks just for a short term gain.

I dislike the airline sector in general and wouldn't touch it even at a discount. I have to be convinced that it is a promising sector before I invest the time into looking an individual companies. And even then I prefer to accumulate shares over a long duration rather than just buying to flip

Airline and shipping suffers from depreciation of its assets and thin margins.plus susceptible to oil and union activities.

At my age every gain is short term.

so it is going to fall further first before coming up.

If I could foretell the future I wouldn't be wasting my time in this forum.

I have no idea whether it will go down, up or sideways. The point is that it is trading now at a huge discount because of a situation that is temporary in nature and when that happens I alway buy quality stocks that are going at a discount compared to what they were trading at before the situation developed.

this is no foretelling, it's already scribbled on the white board.

SATS looks interesting to enter at 4.23. What do you guys think?

SATS hv always been generous this dividend season; but I am doubtful this season as global aviation bleeds badly this yr and now
they are cutting wages. The signs are clearly there.
