1. Good point. I think that they should earn high salary, but I think their current salary is too high!
2. Not sure. Neither am I sure if NSP can do much anyway.
3. You got a good point. Especially the MP for MacPherson (now in Marina Parade GRC). This estate is a slump and the MP was oblivious of that. Tin Tin will be there?
4. Too be fair nope. You haven't seen those rich vs poor in other countries. Favouring the rich at the expense of the poor or middle class is political suicide! No parties can do that, not even PAP. However, I feel that PAP could do more to help the poor. That's why I support Lily Neo all the way.
I am a little concern aobut my son's future. But I'm doing my best to prepare him for the future instead of KPKB behind a PC.
5. Can't answer that. I'm lucky I have no problem with my job. I work in a Regional Banking Group, so hopefully is safe. However, I am preparing myself for the worst, by savings and managing my expense (no car even we can afford to pay cash for one) and also preparing myself for an alternative career if I lose my current job. Just in case...
Overall, I reiterate what I've said earlier, I think PAP is doing a fine job, just that we really really need to have some quality Opppostion MPs in Parliament. This GE, I see a lot of good quality Oppositions Candidates, and I wish they can get voted.
1) If you think their current salary is too high, shouldn't you be also thinking of how to lower their current salary and prevent them from raising their own salary without even getting the consent of all the tax payers?
2) For so many years, since you are not sure what GCT and his yes man team can do for you, why you keep voting them in and continue to pay millions $$$ to them for CBL and CLB? You might as well give those alternate parties a chance to prove that they can also CBL and CLB with a much "lower maintenance cost"?
3) If Tin Tin is there, you willing to continue paying millions $$$ to her each month to doll herself up? Or if Nicole is there, you willing to pay her lesser to do the same thing?
4) The rich versus poor I've seen that in India. I can tell you that favoring the rich at the expense of the poor or middle class is not a political suicide so long as it always remains a "one party system" where the government has absolute power and control of the media, jurisdiction and monopolized all the infrastructure facilities, critical business trades etc. You can spend $$$ to prepare for your son's future and not KPKB behind a PC, but how likely do you think your son can sustain a living in s'pore if the future living environment is no longer conducive and cater for the locals?
5) Since you also can't answer the question of how to survive in s'pore if you happen to loose your job at this moment, do you think your son can also answer the same question in the future when a few more millions of FTs are here? You willing to let this happen and all other local kids to suffer the same fate?
If the current government has been doing a good job like what you've claimed, they would not need to implement policies that always try to earn $$$ from the peasants to sustain the government's "high maintenance cost". If they are really doing a good job, they would have implement policies that help the peasants to excel and try to earn $$$ to sustain their living instead. Think about it.
