Just got a call yesterday from a Pinoy trying to sell me some spa package. I just hanged up after she mentioned "spa"..........

Today got a call from an Ah Neh sounding guy who has a spanish sounding name (another ccb pinoy) from American Home Insurance. He mentioned my full name and as I have a policy with AIA, I thought it has something to do with my policy.

Pinoy: Good Morning Mr Logisex, I'm KNNBCCB from AIA
me: Yes, what's up?
Pinoy: Hi Mr Logisex, are you still overseas?
Me: Yes
Pinoy: Still overseas huh? ok no worries. Bye!

NBCB, speak cock English with zero customer service skills and still want to sell me stuff! What the fark are these companies thinking? Pick any ah lian from orchard road and they can do a better job!

The next time some FT call me, I'm gonna ask them what the fark they are doing in my country and tell them to fark back home! Nevermind the IDD call rates. If there are pests in your house, I'm sure you will spend every dollar to get them out.

I'm sure you receive these calls everyday so ple join me......

Yes, I have to admit that I am sometimes a victim of such methods of terrorisation too by extremist telemarketers, that comprise of girls hailing from the People's Republic of China too.

But at least with girls there is something to talk about. No more filling up those lucky draw forms after buying stuff.

I have received a couple of calls from PRC mei. Usually in the evening around 6 - 8pm. First they will tell you that you are selected to participate in a survey on XX/XX/XXXX. Than they requested you to spend a few moment on the phone and asked if you were credit card holders. When I told them that I don't hold cards, she persisted tactfully by asking for the card number. I hung up immediately!!

All these foreign "talents" are getting from bad to worse. They think Singaporeans are gold mine.

If they call, its easy to avoid. Just don't pick up calls from unknown numbers.

However it's harder to avoid the many ambushes set up at MRT stations, bus terminals, malls,... Years ago, one only had to worry about beggars on weekends, mostly from schools:) Nowadays must worry 24/7 :(

Like I said people, with an exception for those schoolkids all these are acts of terrorism.

There's nothing wrong with donating a bit of your own money for charity via those tin cans those schoolkids carry. You did well before didn't you?

And you called them beggars. You're disgusting.

You misunderstand, many of the kids were made to go begging by the schools.

I'm sure the kids would have preferred to do other things. Many didn't even know what causes they were collecting for.

The TT Durai case exposed the "charity" scams going on in Spore. Charity in Spore has become a bizness with most of the proceeds going to those managing the collection. I heard that only 10 - 20 cents of each dollar collected went to the charity

I will fuck the school if they force my kid to go begging with a tin can .

I will ask them if they guarantee the road map for my child .
If not you better not use my child use other professional means .

Using children and idiotic parents who don't pursue the matter .

Are you telling me you will limit my child's progress
if he doesn't go begging with tin can ?
Are you threatening me schools and principals ?

Every parent will highlight and let the media knows which
schools does that on a regular basis of forcing kids to sell flags .

They should be spending their time at home on studies if not it's family day .

All these foreign "talents" are getting from bad to worse. They think Singaporeans are gold mine.

This often happens here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

They call and ask in those heavy Bejing accent, whether I can speak Chinese and care for a survey.

Then they would proceed to ask questions even BEFORE I have the chance to answer them on their first question.

I just interrupt them: "Look this is Canada, if you want to speak to me then speak English and not your damn Chinese!" And you know what? I said once when I was in a sports shop and a few Ang Mo look at me shocked.

I told my son, who undertands only his mother (or rather grandmother tongue bec. that's what my mother used to speak)...Cantonese, that if he does not like the Chinese langue, don't border to learn it. There are more than 1.3 billion of Chinese in China to uphold the Chinese culture, so he does not need to play his part.

Moreover, I advise him not to border to work in China to earn money, as in North America there are enough opportunties. After all, by age 30 (16 years from now) he should have at least about Can$10 million in his stock investments which I manage for him; and hence he can retire and don't need to border to work and fellow those fools to venture into China. In China he will be tempted by those cheap Chinese girls which at best end up as whores!

One can never believe in the Communists ... especially the Chinese Communists. What the heck, my grandfather owned the largest sugar plant in Kwongtung province and the damn communist took it away from him. Why don't they return to his children and grandchildren now? The new rich are the communist corrupt officials' children and their wealth are built on those like my grandparents!

At the age of 54 I never desire for a single day visit the China proper. I only visit Hong Kong and Macau as they are more westernised. Frankly Ifeel it is below my dignity to screw a Chinese whore. Given a choice I would rather choose a Malaysia Chinese one to srew.

So the next time some strange persons call you for a survey or sales, just tell them you need to speak to supervisor and then tell the latter you need someone who can speak Singlish to call you.

very simple solution. next time they ask for credit cards, just give a fictitious number and fictitious name. alot of these people are scammers. do not just slam them phone down. make them pay by making them use useless numbers and hassle them back . locally I aways ask them to wait and put them on hold and then check every 1-2 min and then pretend to be listening and then leave the phone off the hook and reply huh, yes, maybe, hmmmm to all questions and if everyone does this to all telemarketeers soon the harassment would stop. believe it worked.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

The worst are those salesmen selling charity.
At least for those selling financial products, insurance plans or credit cards, you can reject them by telling them you don't want the product, you already have enough or you don't have money to invest.

For charity donations, they are trying to appeal to peoples' sense of compassion. But what they fail to tell you is that for every dollar you donate, they take a commission cut.
And they brazenly do this at places like mrt stations, where ordinary people go to take public transport. They should consider hanging around places like private clubs or parliament house, where rich people gather. But of course they won't, because they know that these rich and influential people will be difficult to convince or will soon ensure that they are not allowed to hang around their favourite hangouts.

So it's back to bothering the ordinary individual.

....

I find this surprising because I thought that all successful immigrants had to be be conversant in either english or french.

What a cheap ex Sinkie. He claims he can builds up $10 Millions in 16 yrs time, but too cheap to get an unlisted phone number. Cost only a few bucks more per month for an unlisted number. That will solve 90-95% of the problems from annoying small time telemarketers. As for the bigtime telemarketers, they use computerized autodialers with pre-recorder messages, just hang up.

It's become a jungle out there: murders, suicides, bankruptcies, scam artists, communicable diseases,,....

This affects all Sporeans & not just those taking public transport. Take for example the MP who got dengue. We must hold the PAP responsible for the situation. You don't open the doors without inviting "their" problems

my case

me:" hello whose is this?"
prc mei mei:"sir can you speak in chinese?" (she spoke in chinese)

i straight away hang up the phone. you all bother to talk so much

I remember in the good old days when people only had to worry about the PAP getting their $$$ :D
