I think there will be no train service on 1 Oct 2024

As is always the case, when there is a major disruption and investigation, there definitely are other issues uncovered during this episode. They will, for expediency sake, categorise many of them as low risk-low probability issues.

They're gambling with people's lives.

They're trying to strike a balance between.

1) Appeasing the Sinkies who are worried about 'safety'.

2) Reopening asap to mimimize financial losses.

PAP only cares about point 2, point 1 can only be addressed by changing the entire rail for all train lines

I said appease, not address. It's all about managing the narrative. That's what those photo ops and media spin jobs are for.

If the masses believe that the safety issue has been improved or dealt with, even when little has actually been done, they become more forgiving and less critical.

If Oct 1 still no service, something bad is gonna happen…

Sinkies are going to kao peh kao bu, then do this

I am old enough to remember that Clementi MRT station was W8 and not EW23.

See any complacent people at the top doing just stop gap measure. Let's wait & see.

If already repaired, usually SMRT would trumpet it loud and clear
Chee by Tat will jumped in the front line to claim credit first, and then SMRT take the crum after he has satisfied himself with glory. I don't have to tell you PAPPY standard behaviour.

After 6 days MRT disruption of service, why no heads roll down ?

Daft Sinkies are easily placated by SMRT grunts doing standing parade usher duty and holding cards with feel-good words.

That is upturn the downturn
Now many people say smrt are their heroes
