I just love this camera even though it will cost a bomb!

Boss Sam, thank you for the good lesson.
I always want to see the pictures from my big TV screen say 45 inch and above or from my Macbook pro.
if that is the case, is MP still important to me? please guide me

If you're viewing on a TV screen the limitation will be the resolution of your TV set not the image. What sort of TV do you have?

In addition the size of the TV screen is not the measure of the resolution. For example a FULL HDTV has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This is the same regardless of whether the screen in 32" or 60".

If you have an HDTV, as long as the image you are showing has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 or greater there will be absolutely no degradation of the image. This means that you don't need anything greater than a 3 MP camera.

I have heard a lot about Canon. But this one is first for me. Don't know how it will serve. Need to know more.

The camera you get all depends upon what sort of photography you intend shoot.

Generally the categories are sport, street, portrait, daily and landscape.

To find out the ratings of a wide range of cameras in each of these criteria, go to http://cameradecision.com/

From : http://www.bhphotovideo.com/FrameWork/charts/resolutionChartPopup.html

As you can see a 16 MP camera is more than sufficient for the needs of 99.9% of all the photographers out there.

Dear Sam Leong
thank you for the info. I will learn tonight.
this information is very useful.

Dear Sam Leong
thank you for the info. I will learn tonight.
this information is very useful.

Remember this..... image quality is not about megapixels.

Far more important is low light performance, colour rendition and dynamic range.

In general the larger the size of the sensor, the better the image quality. In other words a full frame camera will outperform APS-C, micro four thirds and mobile phone cams.

Full frame cameras also give you more control over depth of field. This is something that phone cams cannot achieve.

It's too BIG. It is too expensive. Also too ugly for leica.

you might want to wait a bit, wait for some review.
no point pulling the trigger now.

There are already plenty of reviews.

I like big cameras. It's a phallic symbol. :D

show us proof when you got it. give a review too.

hello sam,
sorry to ask you silly question.
you mentioned that camera sensor is more important than resolution.
what is the measurement of sensor? what is the unit of measurement?

in resolution, we have MP and 4K.
how about sensor? what kind of measurement?
