I just finished supper. Unlike my Dad, who prefers Blue Nun followed by Milo, I take spring water. Just saw FB and more messages are pouring in. Did not realise what a powerful channel this is. Got a TY note from a retired Gurkha from Nepal who we help repatriate after he was attacked and beaten up by a canteen operator while visiting his grandson in Singapore. The grandson is serving with our Gurkha contingent. Got a interesting message also from an ex-SAF Officer about the "Merchinta" days. I replied that it has to be my younger brother.

Yes, I too did not realise how good looking my wife is. The photo is an eye opener.

I just finished lunch. Charlie our chef has done it again. Steamed Kurau with black beans and broccoli. Charlie has been with us since the Indonesian confrontation but he has kept in touch with contemporary cuisines and healthy diets. On the office front it has been a busy day. Worked on our by elections strategy to recover Hougang. I have lots of ideas on how we can deliver to the residents of Hougang but few good mem and women. We lost one recently over the age confusion issue. Too many good men lost in that debacle including a scholar, a scion of a well respected family and a host of civil servants. This is a good lesson on attending parties organised by champagne socialists who have no clue what is going on at ground level. Got to see Menon on this.

There has been a huge amount of incoming messages and I do apologise to each and everyone if I can reach out individually. Nancy sent a note to say that this has been the first time that all pictures of me smiling is in one place.

Couple of house rules. There has been repeated request on revealing more on the home front but we are conservative society and it would not look good. So no talk on sex, favourite satellite programmes, friends and associates. I am however open to talk on latest PC gadgetry.

It's pretty silly of those chaps really; one would have thought what with their being online and on facebook long before me, they'd have understood pretty well the need for use of nom de plumes when attending these parties.
