Hypocrite Josephine Teo mocks parents who take PSLE leave

I agree with Benjamin who replied with the following. I hate it when people start calling others kiasu when everyone is stuck in the system. who created the system in the first place and where did the stress and problems come from. Just look at the number of kids committing suicide due to exam stress.

Dear Josephine Teo,

OCBC was probably already concerned that a no. of parents were already taking bits of their annual leave to help their PSLE kids. Just because you weren't stressed with your own kids' exams doesn't mean other parents aren't. And if the move encourages parents to spend more time with their children, there is nothing over the top about it.

We should be applauding OCBC's move and not accusing them of playing into parents' fears. If you want to allay parents' fears, look into why the PSLE has been a life and death situation for the last 30 years. You don't have to look far - check out your SAP schools, good schools (although now you are trying to make every school a "good" one), express-stream-only schools and how every year your newspapers make it a point to highlight the highest scoring exam taker.

Loser Teo, part of the loss making team at Suzhou.

"After incurring losses of some US$90 million over 5 years,[5] the Singapore consortium lowered its stake to 35 percent, raising the Chinese consortium's stake to 65 percent from 35 percent and reducing the Singaporean share from a planned 70 km2. to just 8 km2.[1] The Chinese side appointed Wang Jinhua, vice-mayor of Suzhou and the former manager of the New District, as the new chief executive. In 2001, one year after Singapore lowered its stake, the park made its first profit of $3.8 million.[6]"

Dogmeat for the PRCs.

This is indeed shocking coming from a person (esp a mother) who was in Human Resources at EDB, A*STAR and now NTUC.

In other countries the unions will be fighting for such benefits but in unique sillipore, unions are in "symbiotic" relationship with the PAP.
No different from another uniquely sillipore traits, where foreigners are treated better than locals.
