I went to check a ticket, no more seats until few hrs later, took a drink walked to long distance bus interchange (another huge 3 level complex adjacent) that spent me 45 mins, walking 3.5km with full pack 15kg.
 
No security checks? I thought its standard.like boarding a plane.

Entering 高铁站。To get a ticket (unnecessary as you can book even from Pee Sai using smartphone Apps), already X-ray all bags and metal detector gateway to walk through.

Boarding 高铁 got another step of security - just alike airport.

If your journey is one to enter Beijing from outside, then the 2nd layer security check is HIGHER GRADE, will check ID again w face recognition. Thoroughly and really mean businesses!
