Huawei Mate 20 Pro appears in the flesh in leaked photo

Huawei-Mate-20-Pro-appears-in-the-flesh-in-leaked-photo.jpg

Following a sneaky appearance at IFA 2018 earlier this month, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has now been photographed from the front. The photo isn't of the highest quality, as is often the case with such leaks, but the big (supposedly) 6.9-inch curved AMOLED display can still be seen in all its glory. In all their glory can also be seen the notch up top, as well as the side bezels, which do appear slightly thicker than previously suggested by leaked promo images and even a dummy unit of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

And speaking of the notch, the one on the Mate 20 Pro houses a 24MP, selfie camera, an earpiece, and new 3D face-scan tech that will supposedly allow the phone to use an authentication method similar to Apple's Face ID. On the back, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is said to have a triple camera setup, co-developed by Leica and nested in a somewhat unusual-looking square-shaped module.

Huawei has already confirmed that it will officially unveil the Mate 20 Pro alongside the Mate 20 on October 16 in London. Sales of the two phones are expected to begin a couple of weeks after the announcement, before November rolls around.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Leak in Black, Blue Color Variants Ahead of Launch on October 16
Huawei has confirmed an October 16 unveiling for the Mate 20 Pro, after some leaked images at IFA 2018 reveals some details for the much-anticipated smartphone

The Huawei Mate 20 & Mate 20 Pro has been one of those highly anticipated smartphones, and many had their minds glued to the happenings at IFA 2018. The Chinese makers were expected to reveal some details on the Mate 20 Pro at the event, although all we have now is launch date, as Huawei confirmed October 16 as the unveiling date for the smartphone.

Huawei, however, was on hand to announce Kirin 980, the world’s first 7nm AI mobile chipset, and along with it also announced their AI Cube smart speaker and the P20 Pro’s 8GB/256GB variant. As for the Mate 20 & Mate 20 Pro, there was nothing more than the launch date of October 16. However, The Mate 20 Pro was spotted on the IFA floor, and understandably some Huawei employee was on hand to test the device, which revealed quite a few things about the upcoming smartphone.

As we already know that Huawei plans to launch two versions of the smartphone on October 16, namely the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. However, after the IFA press conference, we now know that the smartphone will come in Black and Blue colours. There were two press images leaked for the Mate 20 Pro, and it revealed those colours. Those images also showcased some of the new design aspects the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is to have, with a glass back design and a Leica camera set up.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Leica Triple Rear Camera Setup

Huawei will get the attention they deserve with the Mate 20 Pro, as the smartphone boasts an astonishing Leica triple rear camera setup. Since the P20 Pro already boasts a similar Leica set-up, it was expected from the Mate 20 Pro. Assuming the Huawei phone spotted at IFA 2018 when someone hand held the device was indeed the Mate 20 Pro, it’s clear that Huawei has an L shaped camera setup, with the LED flash taking the last place in the square shape.

As for the camera specifications, we can only speculate as of now. However, considering the Mate 20 Pro is going to be an upgrade to the P20 Pro which was released just six months ago, we can assume similar of the better camera lens on the Mate 20 Pro. The P20 Pro especially had the massive, triple rear lenses, with a 40MP+20MP+8MP setup. Expect the Huawei Mate 20 Pro to have a similar structure, although the Mate 20 Pro that could boast a more powerful camera than the P20 Pro.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Rumoured Specifications

While its clear that Huawei will introduce their newest, Kirin 980 7mn AI Mobile Chipset through the Mate 20 & Mate 20 Pro, and the triple rear cameras, there is nothing more that can be speculated as of now. Although some features such as a USB Type-C module for charging and data transfer were shown via the leaked images, as well as a 3.5 mm audio socket, much similar to the P20 Pro. Additionally, the back photos did not show a visible fingerprint scanner, meaning Huawei will have one in-display on the Mate 20 Pro.

Additionally, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is rumoured to have a 6.3-inch display and a waterdrop notch, and the smartphones boast a massive 4200mAh battery, glass back design with expected wireless charging and stereo speakers. The Mate 20 Pro is scheduled to run on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, with EMUI 9 skin.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Rumoured Pricing, RAM and Storage

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is expected to come out with 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants, although this is the least expected out of the phones, with the current lack of information on these devices. As for the pricing the reference point could be the Mate 10 Pro, which was priced at $699. So expect the Mate 20 Pro to be priced more than that probably $799 or more. However, we will have to wait some more for more information to come out before the October 16 unveiling Huawei had confirmed.

Good riddance.

There's only 2 brands that one shud consider buying.

1) Apple
2) Samsung

Don't even think of clown brands such as Xiaomi. Do u know their most powerful phone - the Pocophone doesn't even stream Netflix in HD? lol

Pocophone F1 lacks support for Widevine L1, HD playback in Netflix and other apps don't work

Xiaomi's Pocophone F1 has already made waves in the smartphone industry for being incredibly affordable; a ~$300 phone with a Snapdragon 845 processor is virtually unheard of. Budget phones are inherently going to have some tradeoffs, and a less-obvious one has been discovered: lack of support for Widevine L1 DRM.
Android supports a wide range of DRM modules, including ClearKey, Widevine, Microsoft Playready, and others. Widevine is by far the most popular method, and there are multiple levels; L1 means a device has full Widevine support, while L3 means only partial compatibility. Several apps on the Play Store, like DRM Info, can determine what DRM methods work on your device.

AndroidPure has posted a screenshot of the DRM Info app running on the Pocophone F1, which reveals only Widevine L3 is supported. That means apps that require full L1 either won't work or will have limited functionality. For example, Netflix won't stream in HD without Widevine L1.
The OnePlus 5 and 5T originally had the same problem, and the 'fix' required owners to send back their phones to receive replacements with updated firmware. We've reached out to Xiaomi for comment, and we will update this post if we get a response.

If you believe former Top CIA NSA Whistleblower Edward Snowden,
all hardware & software by Apple Google Microsoft & Intel Corp have backdoors designed specifically to spy on you & infiltrate if necessary.

Even secure encryption have backdoors. USA also have the best hackers & run the largest hacking network in the world. Americans are just better at covering their tracks than the russian and chinese thats all.

Unless you want to live like a caveman, just use whatever device brand you fancy.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro leaked photos reveal an in-screen fingerprint scanner
By David Lumb 4 hours ago Mobile phones

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is almost certainly going be unveiled on October 16, and one of its rumored features has been corroborated by a leaked photo found on Weibo and published by TechTastic. Someone allegedly got a hold of the company’s next flagship phone and pried it open to reveal what looks like a fingerprint scanner beneath the front screen.

We had seen a spy photos showing the same alleged component before, so this new leak is further evidence that the Huawei smartphone will get an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Given that the scanner doesn’t seem to connect to or correlate with a physical fingerprint button on the front screen, it’s possible that portion of the glass screen will scan fingerprints.

missing-image.svg

The Vivo X20 Plus UD (pictured in the lead image) became the world’s first phone with an in-screen fingerprint sensor, but it was only released in China, followed by the exorbitantly expensive Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS. That would make the Huawei Mate 20 Pro the first affordable consumer phone available in the US and other regions to launch with in-screen fingerprint sensing.

While Apple has led the charge with phones packing facial recognition-only authentication, it’s finicky enough for device makers to stick with tried-and-true fingerprint scanning. And the possibility of spreading that across the whole screen is clearly enticing: earlier this year, a report predicted that 100 million phones will have in-screen fingerprint sensors by 2019, according to CNET.

A fourth Mate 20??
We’d be remiss not to mention the other thing TechTastic released: a leaked image alleging that Huawei will release a fourth phone in the Mate 20 line. In addition to the previously-released Huawei Mate 20 Lite, and the upcoming 6.53-inch Mate 20 and 6.39-inch Mate 20 Pro, there may be a 7.21-inch Mate 20 X. It's supposed to get the Pro’s OLED screen, but retain the 2240 x 1080 resolution of the standard Mate 20.

We haven’t seen this information appear anywhere else, and less than two weeks before the Mate 20 and Pro unveiling, it’s unlikely we wouldn’t have heard a peep about a third model before. But it’s always possible that this could be marketed exclusively in a region that appreciates huge phones at cheaper prices, like China.

I didn't say that.

I said I have more faith in Apple not to abuse and share the info they have on me. I also trust that they do not embed tracking into the hardware which I suspect is done by many Chinese phone manufacturers to conduct mass surveillance on their own citizens.

However as I am not a security expert I can't vouch for Apple. I can only share my own views.

I share the same view with you. I have been a Microshit user that first arrived on the desktop, with DOS 1.0, which came with Lotus 1-2-3- version 1.0, Displaywrite..forgot what version ... still have the diskettes to Windozed...8.0 ..WHEN ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH, for so many problems, especially Virus attacks despite of regular OS Updates, commercial Anti Virus software updates on a regular basis. I WENT OVER TO MAC & NEVER LOOKED BACK.

Though I had used other OS'es...like DAC, UNIX, SCO-UNIX etc & later dabble a little in LINUX.

When Mobile phones came along, I started using Erickson, then it became so lousy, I switched to NOKIA, which I never liked. Tried the early days of LG ( Lousy Goods) & Samsung phones..which were lousy.

When APPLE came out with the iPhone.. I waited for the 3rd Gen., before buying & am still using the iPhone. I have an additional Samsung Phone, in which I regularly update too...the "J" series, cheap & reasonably good...the latest being the Galaxy J6.

I have stuck with the MAC OS & Macbook pro, ever since I bought a MAC & never looked back. The problems I used to have using Windozed based hardwares with OS, have decreased to 0,01%.

Not that MAC OS or IOS is 100% safe, it is safer than any systems out there & much reliable too, though it has its hiccups. Any secured usage I do it on my Mac OS or my IOS based mobile, like banking apps for example. My Samsung Galaxy J6 has only the basic apps...whatsapp only for text communication etc. anything else it os on the Iphone. Why Android?...well!, sometime you need to connect with the rest of the world, with people that can only afford phones with OS at the cheapest rice.

Security...Mac OS & IOS is secured enough & had proven to be safe, despite the numerous hackings etc..unlike any other OS's out there..especially MICROSHIT OS.

As for security, nobody can vouch it is 100% safe...but APPLE has a proven record that they take security & privacy very seriously.

Disagree.

Apple Specs is NOT even close to Huawei or Samsung.

It is the BRAND NAME that make it so HOT SELLING CAKES...Thats all.

Silly to use huawei or oppo. I'm sure there are microchips in there meant to spy on the users' phones and download the info into servers in chinkland every day.

We already know there's going to be a Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro and now there's going to be a Mate 20X
