Other than Eastern line which still remains at Hua Lamphong, the rest will be moved to Grand Bangsue Station from 19 January 2023 onwards.

If you are booking online, the name of the station for Hua Lamphong is still "Bangkok", but for Grand Bangsue it's "Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal".

The cost of the high speed rail systeem to chiang mai( not even laos yet) is usd70 bil. Population of Chiang mai is about 150k. Even if service extended to Vientiane, its population is 1 mil. And onward to china to biggest city will be kunming, population 7 mil.
I doubt if there is demand for the hsr unlike in japan, Tokyo( 30 mil) to Osaka (15 mil) or beijing to shanghai( 40 mil).
Tourist will not mind going on slower trains.
Business people will take a flight as its faster.
Best to build slower service train track that can accommodate cargo trains simultaneously. Tickets will be affordable. Lower energy needed. Maybe up to 200km per hour.fast enough but not too slow.
