I agree with you regarding those IT shows and exihibitions where the parents may leave their baby with someone else like grandparents, etc...
However, I think for those parents who have to 'push their prams around in the mrts', I tend to believe most of them don't have much choice.
You see, I for one, don't have the means to purchase a car, and I am expecting my baby soon (i mean, my wife). Both of us need to work and we don't have a nearby childcare centre. We are planning the next best course of action is to place our baby to my in-law's house until we knock off from work. Afterwhich, we will take our child back home.
As mentioned, we don't drive and we cannot be leaving our child overnight at our in-laws everyday. At some point of time, we need to bring our child back home... and these 'times' are unfortunately, going to be peak hours.
Having said that, I think it's not very nice for the parents to make any 'signs of disgust' because the people in the train are just the same as them: commuters. In a way, they are really causing abit of inconvenience to the rest of the commuters.
i beg to be differ. i too a parent, i left my boy with my mum everyday on weekday. The only peak hours are only in the morning while going to work. The solution is to get a house near to one parents, so that can reach by walking or just a few bus stops.
I own a pram, but only once i use it when i bring my son out. Find it cumblesome. So after that one time, i carried him in my arms when taking public transport. Many a time, there no seats and nobody offer but i am not offended as the fellow communters are also paying customers who are entilted to the seats too.
i too had brought my son to expo, but i will wait with him at the HK cafe while my wife can go cheong the sale herself. Just like that stupid crocs sale recently, only my wife went while both my son and me watch "Finding Nemo" at home.
