Most Malay candidates are meek and simply ride with whoever has chosen them. I have not seen a single Malay in PAP camp being vocal nor outstanding performers. Mostly, just a symbol to make up for the minority numbers. As such, it doesn't matter whether the Malays are presence in politics or not, they didn't contribute much to the country debate or offer new ideas. In contrast, the back bencher like the NCMP or NMP provides more speech and suggestions than the Malay candidates in parliament. I hope, Raeesha Khan can change the stale image of Malay political holders. As LKY has put it bluntly before standing corrected under pressure, he said Singapore will be better off if it is just Chinese, the main architect of prosperity we see today.
Mohd Faisal is very solid. In GE2015, WP was almost killed in Aljunied with 50.2% votes but Mohd Faisal's district in the GRC gave the biggest support to WP although because of his groundworks. Since 2015 PAP also focused on whacking Mohd Faisal's area.
