WP should just apologise. It is clear that WP town council's appointed contractor had approached the hawkers for payment. When no payment was made, the cleaning over the closure of 5 days was completed in just half a day. Hawkers returned to find out that the high area has not been clean. Out of 40 hawkers, 36 signed petition to demand for compensation over loss of income and not to forget they have to pay for rental despite the closure. LTK was a joke when he was trying to play around with words like spring cleaning and annual cleaning. Does he not yet know there can only be 1 spring in a year and not 4?

I am sure politicians proclaiming from the First world parliament should do and must do alot better. Let's stop playing with words and get back to do some real work.

That's our problem ...60 percent of sinkees think like you. They don't bother to take time to understand the issue. When so much info is out there and you can come out with this conclusion, sinkapore is doomed. May the PAP impoverish you.

Agree with you on the DNA and hard-wiring bit. Dont think Old Man was behind it.

But Freedalas would be spot on if he said that VB certainly felt safe in posturing the way he did because he knew his actions would please powerful people.

I agree with almost everything you said here, except that LKY was behind it. If it were, PAP would be able to change around, say, the end of the year.

I think it's a habit, started by LKY, that is now hardwired into its DNA. When pushed hard enough, especially with AIM, haze and dengue, they know no other way out except vindictiveness and repression. The question now is whether we (Singaporeans) are hardwired to give in to that repression.
