I was going to explain to you that for 2016 the WP not only has to field an all star team for Aljunied but also East Coast. Opposition parties cannot do the same as the PAP and hide their newbies behind a heavyweight.

None of the existing team members is of equal standing or caliber to Dr Koh or able to fend off SDP's pool of candidates.

Being in an all star GRC requires a high level of calibre. Contesting any SMC outside Hougang requires an even higher level calibre. Unless you are tell me that people like Low Thia Khiang and Chen Show Mao are not star material so you put them in GRC other than SMC.

Suppose you take your 6 best candidates, I would put number 1 in an SMC, and numbers 2-6 in a GRC. If I think that LLL is in the top 6 of WP (outside Aljunied - Hougang) that is giving her a lot of respect already.

By fielding Gerald Giam or Yee Jenn Jong, WP is telling Singaporeans Lee Li Lian is sub-standard and not good enough to win an election. How will Singaporean react to her in GW2016?

Should WP stick to Lee Li Lian and let her use her charm and party brand to win this by-election?

This will likely be a multi corner fight, PAP may emerge the winner, is it then better to stick to Lee Li Lian so as not to ruin her reputation?

I think if it comes to mutiple corners fight, the oppositions as a whole will benefit.

First of all, there is no gain in the opposition if one more seat is given to them, especially if it is WP. Not only that they will be bullied by PAP in coming election, they will be pushed to a corner by WP, it is already happening in the last election and it will get worse in the coming one, should WP wins. I only hope that WP eats the humble pie after this.

By having less than 50% win for PAP will also not give them the legitimacy and mandate that they are the chosen one, just like Tony Tan, the 30% president.
