How We Assess People

I also see a much belated attempt to grow the local enterprises with the SME schemes but this could already be too late.

The transportation issue is a harder nut to crack and probably would have to wait for 2030 to have it finally settled. The first step to me, is the shifting of the control from car ownership (COE) to road usage and that will come around the time of the next GE with the introduction of the GPS system. With that PAP will not have to answer why the only the rich can buy a car but not the poor.

Public transport will only be solved by 2018 when all the new train lines come into operation. And that is assuming over the next 5 years, the transport companies spend resources to continually maintain and upgrade existing infrastructure. Given their profit making nature that is very unlikely. They will just point to countries like the UK where breakdowns are common and say it is an unavoidable part of the system.

bro,
me draw a clear distinction between "civil servants and the government" and "the political party".
the civil servants are merely the executive arm that performs its duties to the Constitution, the Republic, the Government and her Citizens.

I too share this philosophy. But there are some civil servants who go beyond the call of duties and PLP the party. We have to differentiate this group of people because they are not just civil servants but active participants in the political process.

FS, good morning. What you've posted is a painful fact.Truthfully painful.

Many years ago, the CIA Annual Book only mentioned Chiam and Chee as opposition leaders and left out LTK despite the fact that Chee never made it to Parliament and SDP lost their seats sometime ago.

Can you imagine how Singapore's most "misunderstood" and "ahead of his time" opposition "leader" flies to the US shortly after coming out of bankruptcy and the travel sanctions lifted. You can see the importance he places on the local voters.

KJ is no different. He made turned the threats to this family and international crisis while his son was happily blogging away without missing a heartbeat.

Both of them must think we are idiots.

Flew to Yale with Kenneth Jeyaretnam.

Are you by any chance in the teaching profession with MOE?

Don't think his handlers call the shots either as there are things that even the PAP cannot control and that is the mood of the people and how they vote. Even within the parties, the PAP, the WP or the SDP, many things cannot be controlled by the top leaders. BE PE 2013 was a very good example within the SDP.

?

hehehe... bro, me believe there is almost a sizable number of civil servants whom are supporting the opposition as well, and me think the population is fast growing, would they be deemed as PLPs to the opposition parties should the oppositions come into power? :p:p:p

political beliefs aside, sycophantic behavior must be eradicated. this whole notion of being subservience to a group of elites is nothing more than a shade of imperialism.

we have very powerful civil servants - very very powerful.

No matter how powerful the civil servants are, they are afraid of their Ministers.

Ministers being politicians are afraid of voters, that is you and me!

:D

IMHO, asynchronous forum platform is harder to make a proper assessment and/or judgement of a forumer; not saying that there are no basis for making a sound judgement but purely because the responses made may be measured/aggregated/manipulated to suit one's online persona due to its asynchronous nature.

in synchronous chat on the other hand, the projection of one's character is more uninhibited and more vivid due to the anonymity and one's true nature can often be brought forth easily. it's harder maintain the online persona and folks can call your bluff more easily and readily as the interaction is in real time.

Have you gathered any interesting insights from your chatroom escapades?

It is your choice whether to believe or disbelieve what I wrote. My objective was to inform the forummers here. It is up to them what they think after reading.

Your response is very telling. So is the way you have painstakingly built up your persona.
Inform the forummers? For what purpose? So that more people will vote for WP?
You are either very cunning or pretty stupid.
Considering the way you consistently bantered with one of the forum's most cunning abusive zappers Mdm Tang, I admit it could well be the latter.

Well-being of the ordinary S'porean is not my main concern.

That is very clear.
There's another option to being very cunning or pretty stupid.
The option is that you are an entrenched ex and possibly current establishment henchman who are full of yourself.
Most of us can tell that is a pap election trump card to be used when they are desperate, and you are the one who used it.
Let's see who else emulates you.

Saw this thread many times past two days but did not come in because thought jw asking how to ass someone.

If you mean literally ass someone, I really don't know. So please stop suspecting me.

ke ke ke ke ke joking la your thread so serious add some humor for a break la

It is like giving a comrade a gun and say "Kill me with this if I am going to suffer a life endangering injury". Wonder whether that comrade will do it way before that happens to save his own skin?

Now we know who has the gun.
Next step is to wait to see when and why he would use it.
Also watching with bated breath for him to reveal something that could be damaging to pap in elections.
His opinion that Aubeck is smarter than Leo does not count. That could actually be deemed to be useful to them.

Let's hope that we have planted some doubts in peoples' minds about this fellow's persona.
His standing in this forum as an ex-insider or how high his book makes the bestseller list don't mean shit to me.
Do not let him use the trump card happily when they need it, when many ordinary Singaporeans deserve better lives and not wiseass all-knowing remarks from ex and possibly current henchmen.

bro,
me don't spend that much time in the chatroom to gain any insights :o:o:o
unlike the IRC days where one can spend the whole day in the chatroom working on my scripts :p:p:p
