I also see a much belated attempt to grow the local enterprises with the SME schemes but this could already be too late.
The transportation issue is a harder nut to crack and probably would have to wait for 2030 to have it finally settled. The first step to me, is the shifting of the control from car ownership (COE) to road usage and that will come around the time of the next GE with the introduction of the GPS system. With that PAP will not have to answer why the only the rich can buy a car but not the poor.
bro,
me draw a clear distinction between "civil servants and the government" and "the political party".
the civil servants are merely the executive arm that performs its duties to the Constitution, the Republic, the Government and her Citizens.
I too share this philosophy. But there are some civil servants who go beyond the call of duties and PLP the party. We have to differentiate this group of people because they are not just civil servants but active participants in the political process.
FS, good morning. What you've posted is a painful fact.Truthfully painful.

Don't think his handlers call the shots either as there are things that even the PAP cannot control and that is the mood of the people and how they vote. Even within the parties, the PAP, the WP or the SDP, many things cannot be controlled by the top leaders. BE PE 2013 was a very good example within the SDP.
?
have a nice sunday zhihau..huat!!!!

IMHO, asynchronous forum platform is harder to make a proper assessment and/or judgement of a forumer; not saying that there are no basis for making a sound judgement but purely because the responses made may be measured/aggregated/manipulated to suit one's online persona due to its asynchronous nature.
in synchronous chat on the other hand, the projection of one's character is more uninhibited and more vivid due to the anonymity and one's true nature can often be brought forth easily. it's harder maintain the online persona and folks can call your bluff more easily and readily as the interaction is in real time.
It is your choice whether to believe or disbelieve what I wrote. My objective was to inform the forummers here. It is up to them what they think after reading.
Well-being of the ordinary S'porean is not my main concern.
Saw this thread many times past two days but did not come in because thought jw asking how to ass someone.
If you mean literally ass someone, I really don't know. So please stop suspecting me.
It is like giving a comrade a gun and say "Kill me with this if I am going to suffer a life endangering injury". Wonder whether that comrade will do it way before that happens to save his own skin?
Have you gathered any interesting insights from your chatroom escapades?
