Past 3 decade sure a lot because 30 year ago many are also poor when Singapore are also a 3rd world country.
This is not important. Only Is HDB price are out of reach. And public transport/road traffic are cramp like sardine fish. Solve these 2 problem 1st to all ministers.

3 decades ago, most of the current ministers are not ministers yet and may be still staying in HDB. Last 10 years may be a better gauge and answer may likely be zilch.

how and what does it matter if they do lived in HDB housing in the past three decades? (or in the past 10 years)

would it be a same boat scenario that we are seeking? so that they would understand what most of us are in?

Yucks! How can I, a Minister, creme de la creme of the elite class, be even thought of living in crammed, cheap, and mass-produced housing and having to face the sweaty, smelly masses daily in the elevators and wet markets? Chey! I'll be so traumatised and stigmatised by even being associated with such thoughts.

Ha ha...How can a Minister allow another Sinkie to step over his head in a HDB flat every night? If one really stays in a HDB, his unit, left, right, up and down all will be own by HDB to be used as security buffers.

ya, if they dun live among the "lessor mortals", how would they know and experience for themselves the true current situation.

*not something when they were young, living in kampong, HDB... that's in the past. issue is now and the future.

wonder if they would embark on programs to house them in their own constituency. say, for Mr. Mah (since he's known as the HDB guy)

for him to stay in say a 3RM flat in Tampines GRC. nothing too long, maybe just 2 weeks? then he can see and hear from himself rather than taking it from all the various leaders on the ground. sometimes, it's might not be the fault of the higher, instead if they were fed with information coming from a source that is not neutral... then they would not be able to make the decision that would benefit the general public.

one might question such a move as a publicity stunt (if it ever were to happen). but i think that would address a concern that many of us might be asking.

It's not at all important whether they had lived in a hdb flat.
Even if they did, that doesn't mean that they will have empathy now.
Based on your own assessment of their words and action, do you think they are empathetic?
