A HIGHLY intoxicated Korean national fell nine floors to his death while apparently trying to climb back into his bedroom from the parapet of a condominium development. A verdict of misadventure was recorded on Thursday on the death of chief officer Kim Young Hwan, 30, on May 23 last year.
The court found that in all probability, he had slipped and fallen while trying to get back into the unit after visiting a friend in the same block close to 11pm that day. He had earlier left without taking his wallet with the condo access cards inside.
A security guard was patrolling Tanglin View Condominium at Prince Charles Crescent when he found Mr Kim lying face down at the ground floor at about 1.25am that day. Mr Kim, who began working for Unix Line early last year, had been sharing the three-room apartment with several colleagues. Earlier on May 22, he had had food and three jugs of beer with some colleagues at Lau Pa Sat.
