Well the guy just led his party to a pretty convincing victory in the last General Elections. Pretty impressive if you ask me. The people of Singapore obviously see him as more than an effective Prime Minister. LHL will probably go down in history as one of the most famous leaders in Singapore's history.

You have to trust the election results. Unless the elections are rigged or maybe the people are just plain daft.

I think it is more of a false dilemma for the well heeled in Singapore rather than Hobson's choice.

Yes and no. The well heeled will not reveal their intentions. Many of them have kids who are already PR and they have acquired second homes overseas. It also the silly govt that made it so hard to get admission to local universities despite having good grades and now in foreign universities they have tasted freedom and a more advanced lifestyle.

Its no surprise that to some extent they have to bring in foreigners because some of younger talents are working and living overseas.

I think it is more of a false dilemma for the well heeled in Singapore rather than Hobson's choice.
