全球近2百政界人士聯署批評港區國安法 彭定康發起
全國人大授權常委會審議建立健全香港特區維護國家安全的相關法律制度及執行機制的決定草案。
全球接近200名政界人士聯署，批評北京的做法，當中包括美國17名國會議員。
聯署由前港督彭定康及英國前外相聶韋敬發起及組織。聯署的聲明形容，草案是對香港的高度自治、 法治及基本自由的全面打擊，亦公然違反中英聯合聲明。聲明又說，假如國際社會不能相信北京會信守對香港的承諾，人們將不願意在其他事情上相信北京。
在北京，外交部發言人趙立堅日前說，國家安全是國家生存發展的基本前提，又指香港是中國的一個特別行政區，香港特區維護國家安全立法的問題，純屬中國內政，任何外國無權干預；中國政府貫徹一國兩制方針，及反對任何外部勢力干預香港事務的決心，堅定不移。

Nearly 200 political figures from all over the world jointly criticized the National Security Act of the port area
The National People's Congress authorized the Standing Committee to review the draft decision to establish and improve the relevant legal system and enforcement mechanism for safeguarding national security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Nearly 200 politicians from around the world have signed on to criticize Beijing's approach, including 17 members of Congress in the United States.
The co-signing was initiated and organized by former Hong Kong Governor Patten and former British Foreign Minister Nie Weijing. The joint statement described the draft as a comprehensive blow to Hong Kong ’s high degree of autonomy, the rule of law and fundamental freedoms, and a flagrant violation of the Sino-British Joint Declaration. The statement added that if the international community cannot believe that Beijing will keep its promise to Hong Kong, people will be reluctant to believe in Beijing in other things.
In Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said recently that national security is a basic prerequisite for the country ’s survival and development, and that Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China.
