【星島日報報道】香港將走進5G時代，隨着26及28吉赫頻譜發牌在即，獲編配頻譜的中移動香港亦正積極發展相關基建及應用方案。中移動香港將「5G聯合創新中心香港開放實驗室」由葵涌遷至科學園，開幕禮昨日舉行，展示實時直播、同步機械人體驗、智能自動車等六項5G應用方案。中移動香港首席工程師鄭啓良透露，新實驗室洽談中的項目有近雙位數字，又認為5G在高清視頻的應用最快推出市面，相信今年底至明年初有望在港推出。
剛遷至科學園區的「5G聯合創新中心香港開放實驗室」昨日展示與合作夥伴進行的六個5G應用方案，示範5G如何改善市民生活，包括：4K-3D視頻點播、5G實時直播、閉路電視城市管理系統、智能自動車、無人機物流，以及同步機械人體驗。
鄭啓良說，原於葵涌的5G實驗室因環境狹窄，導致許多測試如試行智能自動車等未可進行，搬遷後實驗室可有更大的空間，提供5G網絡環境及共用協作空間予合作夥伴，未來將積極接觸不同行業的公司，進行5G網絡應用研發測試。
他舉例，以往高清直播要花大量人力物力設置傳輸系統，又或需利用衞星通訊，中移動與科騰科技公司合作，讓攝影師只需背着小型傳輸器、手持小型攝影機，亦可做到高清直播，他笑言日後新聞界做突發新聞或可轉用這項技術。
中移動香港董事兼行政總裁李帆風指，實驗室將促進5G和4G協同，並實踐「5G+AICDE」應用，即5G與人工智能、物聯網、雲端計算、大數據及邊緣計算等新訊息技術的融合。中移動又將於本月底在銅鑼灣完成安裝個別26及28吉赫頻譜基站，在原有基站增加5G基站，稍後將詳細公布在各區新基站的分布及數目。
