KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong heartthrob Louis Koo and movie producer Raymond Wong brought a huge dose of festive cheer when they met fans at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Shopping mall to promote the movie “All’s Well Ends Well 2011.”

The film is the sixth instalment in the All’s Well Ends Well franchise, which started in 1992, and has since become the staple for traditional Lunar New Year entertainment.

“We resumed making the series due to demand from audiences, who derive a lot of enjoyment watching the movies during the festive season, but we’ll be taking a break after this movie,” said Koo.

He said that while comedies were more challenging, he preferred them to action movies. “This is because apart from having lots of fun, I get to bring joy to others,” he added.

Koo, who is still recuperating from an injury to his left leg sustained during the filming of a movie in Beijing last August, said he could only take on action movies after August this year.

Nevertheless, the actor is not taking it slow and will be seen in no less than five movies this year alone.

In “All’s Well Ends Well 2011,” Koo plays an effeminate make-up expert who heads a cosmetics company while Wong portrays a middle-aged tycoon who starts a business for his girlfriend.

The urban romantic comedy is directed by Chan Hing Kai and stars Donnie Yen, Carina Lau Ka Ling, Chapman To, and Cecilia Cheung, who is making her comeback.

“All’s Well Ends Well 2011” opens in local cinemas on Feb 3.
