Tian Beichen, Chairman of the Legislative Council’s Railways Affairs Group, said today (March 3) that the MTR is now clearly looking out for contracting out. Whether the business is fraudulent or not, and whether the MTR and contractors know it or not. He also pointed out that the MTR should consider carefully whether it needs to be dismantled to check the Hung Hom station project or hire an expert to inspect the structure of the affected buildings in a professional manner.

Tian Beichen stated that the community is concerned about whether anyone would commit fraud in order to save time or money. If the project really involves fraud, the MTR has the responsibility to inform the government after it knows it. If no fraud is involved, the MTRCL should consider whether there is any problem with the contractor contracting procedures or standards.

He believes that the government should set up an independent investigation committee to investigate the incident and appoint an expert team to investigate the incident. As to whether the Legislative Council should refer to the privilege law to investigate the incident, he pointed out that the matter should be left to the MTR to submit a report before making a decision.

The MTR Hung Hom Station had a new event where the steel bars on the platform had been shortened and the MTR had to submit a report to the Highways Department. Tian Beichen, chairman of the Legislature’s Railway Matters Group, urged the government to set up an independent investigation committee and appoint an expert team to investigate the incident. They think that the MTRCL needs to clarify whether the incident involves the outsourcing of counterfeiters, and whether the MTR and contractors are not informed.
Tian Beichen is also concerned that the report will explain the issue of structural safety and question whether demolition and reconstruction of the platform should be resumed.

[Now News Desk] Tian Beichen, chairman of the Legislative Council’s Railways Group, at the Hung Hom Station of the Hung Hom Middle Line of Hung Hom at the Sha Tin Line of the MTR Sha Tin Line believes that the primary issue is to find out whether the sub-contractor responsible for the project is deliberately bullied. Whether the contractor Leighton was informed or not. He also pointed out that the MTRCL should consider how to ensure the safety of the station structure, including the need for demolition and inspection.
Tian Beichen also believes that the government should set up an independent investigation committee to investigate the incident to find out whether the incident involves fraud, and whether the platform structure is safe.
