In the 1920s, Cpl. Adolf Hitler was a MRed NSmen in Austria. After the breakup of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in WW1, Austria decided it was best to merge back with Germany. Austrians are German-speaking people anyway. In an effort to rebuild it's army for better bargaining power in a merger, Austria offered NSRA. Hitler jumped for joy...until he heard that's for new soldiers only. Outraged, Hitler went over to the then still unstable Germany and took over the entire Germany and German armed forces. Turned back and attacked Austria to make it a subordinate protectorate instead of an equal partner province. The rest as they say, is history.
