Yes but Norinco isn't the only maker in PRC it is only the more official brand perhaps. The bunch of officially used models are made also by more than 50 PRC factories with variations and specialization. They all use the same ammo and model numbers.

I know an incident somewhere in Johore like 12 years ago, a corrupted bastard Malaysian police officer pulled out handgun pressed against the head of UY and he still continue to give serious troubles no stop, there were many witnesses. I think there is important point that you had missed.

SGP mata are very coward and wasteful of tax dollars, they can not handle especially big crowd of unruly foreigners. They need to apply huge amount of manpower to a slightly violent case, # of mata / # of culprits ratio is terrible and become overwhelmed when the number of culprits is only slightly bigger. The SGP mata overly depends on extra manpower backup support, but they are in very serious manpower shortage!

If they faced a man with a parang or chopper they will call 20 mata backup at least, and the big number of backup support can not come fast. Things can happen before backup arrived.

What if they encountered 20 men with parangs? They will need to turn out task force unit or SAF! And how long they need?
