If you are a regular blood donor you would know that some time during 2023-2024, the bloodbank (HSA) has amended the questionnaire form which donors fill up before making their donations.
Previously, there were four alphabets on the page where you filled up your name, NRIC number, address etc:
C I M O，you just circled whichever represented your ethnicity. It got changed to include a box that has many sub-categories e.g. northeast Asian, southeast Asian, middle east etc.
Another thing: the question about sexual history also had some changes. The most memorable one was the question asking you whether you had sex with a person you have known for less than three months. Once upon a time that's six months. The amended question also has some fine print with extra elaboration e.g. if you break up with someone, then get reacquainted with them again, that's considered a new sexual partner.
