The insignificant nobody me will not repeat what is in that post, but only to share a few points of what Apple Inc excuses had given in order to NEGOTIATE with PrezTrump over the huge hikes that both USA & China had imposed on each other, which is detrimental to Humans whom only sought to put food on the table for loved ones thru honest means.

NO ONE gets the whole pie to eat alone. Such is how NEGOTIATION works. It was a win-win solution for PrezTrump, Tech companies & China workers.

1. Everyone knows that labor costs in USA are high. That's because USA is a democratic Nation, which ensures ALL are treated equal where nether the rich or the poor can take advantage of each other.

Apple Inc & other tech manufacturers would look for nations with the lowest labor costs to manufacture their products, to hell with Human rights. However Apple Inc was smart - it OUTSOURCE such labor costs to its contractor FOXCONN. Many reports had been filed against Foxconn where labor rights do not exists, such as suicides by over-worked workers, etc, but APPLE Inc walks away clean, as it is the contractors & not Apple Inc practices.

2. The design & engineering blue prints for the Iphone was created in California, USA, using USA's education & innovation that took years to cultivate & grow. Apple Inc then took such blue prints & manufactured it in China for profits. In a perverse way, it was NOT China that stole American innovation. It may had been American entrepreneurs such as Apple Inc that GAVE such blue prints to China in exchange for its low labor 9-9-6 costs....

3. Apple Inc claims that they could not find tooling expertise in USA. He must be joking, as USA is a highly educated Nation, where even tooling is a subject that is taught in high schools, let alone in colleges where it is a BASIC introductory course in Engineering.

Even if it can't ridiculously find such expertise amongst USA grads, USA is still open to legal migrants on work/employment passes to be hired.

4. Apple Inc claimed that it would cost USD$3500 for an Iphone to be made in USA, due to American labor costs. The reality is that, would a mere communication device needs that much advances just for one to talk to another?

If Xiaomi using American tech can create a similar phone at a MERE fraction of an Iphone which costs USD$100, with raw materials bought from other Nations & if made in USA with 25% labor cost it would be only $125, so why not made in USA phones whereby Americans only needs a simple communications device?

5. Contrary to certain beliefs that it would take years to start manufacturing in USA, it only takes 3 WEEKS to start manufacturing, because:-

i) There are ready built factories for sale or rent throughout the 50 States of USA, with ready infrastructures such as water, electricity, roads, etc. Just check the ads on newspapers & online.

ii) Any Project Manager that takes more than 3 weeks to get operations going should be fired. A Project can run concurrently such as HR units, material supplies, ready made machines, ready pool of workers from even the World, logistics, space, etc.

6. Every USA grade dreams big, to be the next Steve Jobbs, Facebook, etc, etc. That's how they are taught. But none needs to be the 'big next thing' in order to put food on the table for loved ones. Just become an entrepreneur within the SUPPLY CHAINS of big corporations whom will give big quantity orders to numerous suppliers for it to serve the markets of at least 300 million Americans, let alone the World, would make one a billionaire.

Take the example of our very own Singapore's rags to riches citizen - the infamous OK Lim of Hin Leong Trading - was just into bunkering of ships, part of a supply chain & become a billionaire. He made it big, but was too greedy, & eventually indicted for fraud.....

7. In the end, although Apple Inc & other tech manufacturers did not get what they wanted - removal of total tariffs, nor did PrezTrump got what he wanted - total tariffs to help grow manufacturing in USA, but it was a win for PrezTrump & a win for Tech manufacturers, more so Apple Inc, as it had DEEP POCKETS - billions in vaults gathering dust & would have to return something in exchange to work the deal - creating jobs for Americans.

While there are computers made in USA, most of it are ASSEMBLED in USA that provided jobs for Americans, with parts from foreign supply chains.
