Urgent: Bomb rocks Hat Yai hotel, over 200 people trapped

Hat Yai, Songkhla - A bomb exploded inside the Lee Garden Hotel in this southern border town Saturday afternoon.

About 200 guests and hotel staffs were trapped on the fourth floor and rescue workers were rushing to rescue them.

Thanks for reporting safety（报平安）Chonburifc. Latest calls from eyewitness news there is that it's not as simple as gas explosition. Bombs were planted at gas pipes. It's another series of chain bombing across southern provinces. Breezer is good, but I usually go for a full bottle of Spey Royal whisky or a small bottle of Spy when in Thailand.

Actually, I have been expecting the worst to happen to Pattaya. Sooner or later, sure kena jialat jialat because of the number of farangs here. But until the day it happen, will continue to enjoy my stay and my alcholic drinks.

Because they live in the south. They haven't got enough money to buy air ticket to central or north after spending all their money on explosives. Songkhla is best target cause they didn't want Songkhla, recognising it as Thai. However, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat (nearby Songkhla and actually in Malaysia geographically) are what they want. They usually bomb around these three provinces but when they got "budget surplus" they cross over to bomb Songkhla. Hatyai is biggest town in Songkhla.

They had appealed to Malaysia to negotiate with Thailand to take them back as Malaysian states but Malaysia declined.

so what about chonburific's comment about them bombing pattaya cos of the many farangs since it doesn't really involve them cos the reason for their attacks is independence from thailand. Now making the nations those farangs come from hating them doesn't really seem a smart thing to do.
