CDC vouchers made matters worse. Sellers start to raise prices to steal your CDC money. In a similar vein, a lot of small training institutes are established to take advantage of your funds when the government grants you skill future credit. Price hike sky-rocketted overnight, you see old price replaced with high price on every food item in hawker centers after CDC vouchers were given. NTUC grocery items also changed their pricing. What goes up will never come down after you used up your CDC and you have to live with high cost of livings thereafter. Stupid customers allow such trend to continue because they kept feeding the seller's greed for more. ToastBox is a good example - always long queue despite them charging their customers exorbitant high price. Adding insult to injury, those hawker services suck big time.
