This is a PRECAUTION to anyone who is looking for web design services out there – Please DO NOT hire SHEIKH RIDHUAN (Singapore), working under company name INTERACTIVE MEDIA WORKZ!

RIDHUAN is a CHEAT, FULL OF EXCUSES and will NEVER GET YOUR WORK DONE! And after insisting he needs more and more money he will disappear.

I am a small business owner, self-funded and on a tight budget. Beginning Feb 2013, I was searching for an online website designer on Elance.com to help me design a relatively affordable e-commerce site. SHEIKH RIDHUAN contacted me to say that he could meet my budget to design. We went through my requirements in a face to face meeting on 8 Feb and I agreed to pay two-thirds of his fee upfront.

He soon started all his bull**** with me.

For instance, on Feb 14, RIDHUAN contacted me asking for a cash advance, since he only had S$20 to spend on his girlfriend for Valentine’s Day. I felt sorry for him and gave him $50.

Two days later, RIDHUAN tried to charge me S$30 for a WordPress plug-in he claimed he downloaded. When I pressed for the Paypal receipt so I could reimburse him, RIDHUAN claimed there was no receipt and tried to issue his own invoice to me.

For the next month and a half, RIDHUAN made more excuses for not completing the website, always telling me "tonight", "soon" but I never saw anything. Finally, I gave him a deadline of 20 March to complete my site. He asked for an extension to 22 March, which I agreed. Then on 22 March, he told me that his uncle in Malaysia passed away and that he needed to attend his funeral. On 24 March, he said that he had an "accident" and that he needed to "rest" and that he would do a full refund of my money by 27 March.

However, on 27 March my calls and texts to him went unanswered. I went public about what he has done on Facebook.

I do not have enough posts to put any links here yet, but I am sure EMDW-ers are resourceful enough to locate the viral Facebook post, as well as his information.

I know that I will probably never recover my money from this cheat SHEIKH RIDHUAN. However, I hope for others to learn from my mistake and avoid him so that he does not get to cheat others!!!

1) Celebrating V-day? And even if you do...

2) $20 to celebrate V-day? And even if so...

3) Beg a client for cash advance? And on top of that...

4) Tell your client about your financial deficits for V-day?

Too many red flags. And the client was an idiot.
