Gruesome accident at Tampines St 45 T JUNCTION - RIP

I usually passed by this junction on weekend. There is only got one lane passable to cars going straight, turning right and left. Everyone will be rushing to beat the traffic else it going to be quite a long wait especially when there are turning vehicles infront.

The father of the two boys killed in a traffic accident on Monday has pleaded with drivers here to drive safely.
Mr Francis Yap, 39, told the media that he hoped drivers here will keep to the speed limits. Mr Yap said that he had taught them how to cross roads safely, and had felt assured that they did so. Yesterday was not their first time out on a bicycle, he said.
The bodies of his two sons Nigel Yap, 13, and Donovan Yap, 7, who were killed in an accident in Tampines on Monday, arrived at the wake set up by their family at about 3.35pm on Tuesday.
Their father and mother, Suliani Ang, 38 received the bodies alongside relatives and church friends.

The elder of the two boys who died in a horrific accident in Tampines on Monday had fetched his younger brother from CCA on his bicycle, and both were heading home, said Mr Baey Yam Keng, an MP for Tampines GRC.
He told The Straits Times at the accident site Tuesday morning: "Think the elder brother was fetching the younger brother home after CCA. Apparently that was his first day at CCA at wushu."
The two boys were hit by a cement mixer at about 5.40pm at the junction of Tampines Avenue 9 and Tampines Street 45. The Singaporean driver has been arrested.
The younger boy was riding pillion on the bicycle. One boy died instantly and the other died soon after.

I have a huge problem with drivers/riders who love to rev up their engines to the max and then speed on the roads. They love causing noise disturbance as well. It's their way of showing off.
I believe such people should be banned from driving/riding for life. They should also be fined $100,000 and imprisoned for 5 years, with two strokes of the cane for good measure.
These people are a menace to society.
As for drunk driving, these people should be banned from driving for life and given 12 years in jail for the first offence. No second chances.
