A 78-year-old man with 48 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren in Kuala Terengganu was fined RM2,400 (S$934) after being found guilty for khalwat (close proximity), reported Sinar Harian.
Alias Salleh, who is married with 18 children, is a former teacher who has been married 25 times.
Based on the charges, Alias was found committing the offence at a house with 31-year-old cleaner Zalina Ismail, who is also married.
Prior to the incident, Alias and Zalina were detained by a team of policemen.
Syariah court judge Kamalruazmi Ismail, in his judgment, advised the senior citizen to repent.
"At your age, it is not appropriate for you to make such mistakes.
"You will be facing God (one fine day).
"The punishment handed out by the court cannot help you redeem your mistake. Please repent," said Kamalruazmi.
