We had dinner totalling 4 persons and bill came up to $700 plus , no lobster , alsaskan crab or abalone! Peking duck ( actually more like roast duck ) , fish , normal beef stir fried ,bamboo clams ,live shrimps , barbeque mixed meat and peking duck meat fried with noodles.

It's overcharging and I cant forgive the manager who recommended these dishes , what if I agreed to his recommendation of sharksfin soup , lobster , abalone and crab? It could have doubled or tripled . This restaurant is fleecing us , I will not go there anymore. though a friend of mind told me about their high prices and excessive billing before , I did not believe it is so rampant until recent visit.

Are they desperate to "rob" again? I know this guy Andy Chow had gone through failures many times before and this being a fairly new venture , expected him to be moe honest and fair to his patrons , but never expected it to be so bad.

Just be careful , next time you go there . Peking duck may be $28 but the fried noodle using same duck's meat cost $18 . Fish is $8 ( but in small print $8 per 100gms ) , so read carefully , each fish at least $60 to $80 ! Make sure the bill is not inlump sum, tell him to show breakdown to check calculations. Otherwise they dont tally .Goodluck to all those going there.

wah restaurant .. charge fish $8 per 100gm... haha....

Atcually depending on what fish.
Soh Mei (Napoleon Wrasse) cost about $30 upwards per 100gm. So expect to pay premium for premium fish. Unfortunately, they dont sell this fish locally, only in top end restaurants.
If anyone unwilling to fork out more for a $8/100gm fish, then tell the captain to get a fish not bigger than 1kg. In fact, i suspect this $8/100gm is a normal grouper. The best thing about having grouper meat is not having a specimen weighing more than 1kg, if not the meat is a bit tough.
Im very choosy when it comes to fish. It has to be alive (better if i can do the selection) & i only go for certain specimens. If you think NTUC fishes are fresh, you better make your way to Senoko fishing port to procure the choice specimens.

hi there

1. honest, i have been one of its patrons since 1977 where it was still "tsui hung chien" situated at level 1 at asia hotel, scotts road (now demolished).
2. yes, live fish will cost! anywhere.
3. i always have tim sum there too even last week (its north bridge road site).
4. for 4 paxs, depends on what your preference and range: s$150.00 or more. i had several range of tim sum and special brewed canto soup etc.
5. i guess we go in to any restn with our eyes wide open and looking out whether its price range meet your budget too.
6. well, you don't like its live fish there, bring your own ikan bilis there.
7. you should try clarke quay.

Brother, eat rice don't know rice price. The name already indicates that your bill will be close to a "grand"/ your fish cost about 100, your live prawn, somemore bamboo claim.
Times are bad and if you can afford such good food, then dont complain leh
