愛滋病還會透過水源感染?印度南部卡納塔卡省(Karnataka)的莫拉布村,有一名感染愛滋的女子跳湖輕生,屍體在2日後被村民發現,儘管連忙打撈上岸,但「水中有愛滋病毒」的謠言仍在村莊中傳開,村民強制要求政府幫湖泊換水,於是現場竟出現了湖水遭抽乾的奇景。


據外媒報導,女子因患有愛滋病而遭到村民排擠,不只婆家不認她這個媳婦,就連她的父母也不敢和女兒見面,傷心欲絕的女子走投無入,跳入當地湖泊中身亡,2日後屍體被打撈上岸,已經嚴重腐爛,在驗出死者的身分後,村民們陷入恐慌,認為屍體會汙染水源,間接將愛滋病傳染給他們。

由於這個湖泊是一千多名村民日常飲用水的主要來源,村民們強烈要求政府將湖水抽乾,儘管許多專家都向村民們解釋,愛滋病是透過體液傳染,但仍無法消除他們的疑慮,當地官員胡魯爾(Naveen Hullur)也表示:「我們盡力說服村民,會檢驗湖水;但他們不買帳,甚至拒絕接近湖泊。」

在村民的施壓下,政府已經出動十多部抽水馬達,持續了數天這項浩大的抽水工程,胡魯爾透露,接下來只要再花4、5天灌入湖水,工程就能結束,許多村民在抽水期間,還戴著口罩、手套到湖邊「監工」,而究竟這項工程花費了多少錢,公共衛生官員目前還沒有回應。

事實上,造成愛滋病的HIV病毒並不會透過空氣、水或飲食,或共用杯、碗、餐具、衣服或馬桶座而感染,常見的感染途徑是透過性行為、接受遭到感染的血液,以及受感染的母親因為懷孕或哺乳而感染子女,且感染者在死亡後,病毒也無法再生存。

Under the pressure of the villagers, the government has dispatched more than 10 pumping motors, which lasted for several days. This huge pumping project, Huluer revealed that the project will end if it takes another 4 or 5 days to pour into the lake. Many villagers used masks and gloves to "supervise workers" at the lake during pumping. How much money the project cost, public health officials have not yet responded.

In fact, the HIV virus that causes AIDS is not infected by air, water or diet, or by sharing cups, bowls, cutlery, clothes or toilet seats. The common route of infection is through sexual activity, receiving infected blood, and receiving Infected mothers are infected with their children because of pregnancy or breastfeeding, and the virus can no longer survive after the infected person dies.
