What the PAP govt wants are 'cheap', unthinking labourers. Quantity not quality to do the construction, the clearing of rubbish, cannon fodder for the army etc. And without a thinking brain, the assured mandate for the PAP will forever be maintained.

Out of these 15,000 babies not aborted could emerge a few 'prodigies' like Fandi Ahmad the footballer just for arguments sake. They may not be intellectually gifted but talented for something at least.

The number of women who die from illegal backstreet abortions would, in the worst case scenarios, be a hundred at most compared to 15,000 potential babies killed each year.

First, there are not that many rape cases and secondly not all rape cases end in pregnancy.

The incidence of deformed babies is very, very low to justify aborting 15,000 cases every year. In cases of severe genetic error or deformity, a spontaneous miscarriage would usually have occurred as it cannot carry on to full term.

You do not throw away a full crate of apples just because a few in the crate will turn up rotten.

Those that do not want their babies should be made to give up their babies for adoption. The lesson of fooling around irresponsibly would be best learnt from the punishment of carrying the baby to full term.

In truly developed countries that have advanced child care govt agencies who monitor cases of child abuse/neglect closely. Irresponsible parents who abuse or neglect their children will be convicted and their children fostered out to childless adoptive parents who want to have children but are infertile.

You got it wrong that feminist are against abortion. The feminist are PRO-CHOICE meaning they want to have the choice to KILL (abort) the baby in their womb so that they can have irresponsible sex and have a fall back position when things don't work out to plan.
