I personally know some old pple in Hougang don't bother to listen to rally, speeches and what nots because their minds are set to just cross on the hammer. Asked them why and their reason is simple - they don't like DC's face - dunno why . But they still go for free goodies when he organised events all along.... they are not stupid too - maybe they take what is given to them and think for their kids' and grandkids' future.

I fully agree with you that the ability to charm, especially infront of the mass media, is an important quality for any profession that requires media appeal. Politicians included.

But for someone who previously talked about substance being more important, don't you think your assessment on Png being a weaker candidate is therefore completely flawed? Because in your opinion, Png is a weaker PURELY because you deem his media appeal poorer than DC. This means (i) you're inconsistent with what you previously advocated; (ii) your analysis on what is a strong or weak candidate is skin-deep.
