A man confronted a food delivery rider along Orchard Road, claiming he is not a Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident, hence he is supposedly not allowed to do food deliveries.

The interaction was filmed and posted on the Facebook group, SG Road Vigilante - SGRV, and has been shared over 200 times

"illegal rider"
The 1:42-minute video showed a man in blue covering his face and appeared to be crying as another man behind the camera was raising his voice at him.

"You stand your distance ah," the other man shouted.

The man in front of the camera responded: "I'm begging you."

However, the man filming was not fazed by this. He moved the phone to show the license plate on the man's bike and said: "Illegal rider, doing our local delivery job."

He even took a video of the food which was still in the delivery bag.

The man also demanded to see the receipt of the delivery and flashed it to the camera.

Details such as the delivery location, at Scotts Square, and the food delivery company, foodpanda, can be seen in the video.

"Where are you from?"
When the man was questioned about where he was from, he continued to cover his face and squat down on the side of the road.

"You're not suppose to come to Singapore do this ah. Our job getting lesser because of people like you."

The man being filmed mumbled something in response, which was hard to decipher from the video.

"You don't need to do this, you know this is wrong ah," the man said; to which the other man responded: "I know."

Later, he showed his foodpanda rider app, which revealed the name of the rider working for the company.

According to the foodpanda website, individuals have to be a Singaporean or Permanent Resident (PR) to ride with them.

This is also a requirement for both Grabfood and Deliveroo food delivery riders.

Mothership has reached out to foodpanda for a statement.

Backlash
Despite this, many said the man had gone too far to "humiliated another person".

Hullo! Food delivery is considered a high tech job. Nuclear power plants are brick and mortar.
CECA's are required in the former.
