HSK left out the most important part of the pledge when he quoted it:
We, the citizens of Singapore.
Not, we the permanant residents/work permit holders/s-pass holders, EP pass/student pass/dependents pass holders of Singapore.
It's sacrilegious how he has defaced the pledge for politics. C'mon man. Whatever happened to family first?
It's not that we don't welcome foreigners in our midst. But when we don't even feel secure in our own country, how can we open our hearts to others? And all we see are foreigners depressing our wages (not those amdk in senior management, but everyone else) its really hard to stomach.
