throw in the compulsory seminars each company must clock each year to renew license. it become free $$ to cronies who are approved NEA vendors to conduct the seminars plus also cleaners course fee. wahahaha.......

My hunch is that these measures could well be used to the advantage of the MIW. Implementation is politically motivated. Another way to nudge you to toe the line. Be kuai kuai and compliant. Wonder if this takes place in 1st world countries.

That's stating the obvious isn't it. There are also unlicensed money lenders, property agents etc. Pimping requires a license. Being a poltician does not.

Licensing is not just a way to regulate those industries. Its actually a way for PAP to take over market share and make money from the operations. Then after taking over cleaning industry, still make you return tray.

Imagine if there are no licensing...you get more traffic accidents, more illegal betting syndicates, more errant contractors, more fraudulent real estate agents and so forth.

Actually license it good to regulate the industry. So all will need to meet certain criteria.

Agree with you. To prevent some abuse worker like paying $800/month or no fix salary or no CPF.....etc

In some cases yes, the license is used to make you toe the line.

The govt also uses fundings and sponsorships to force people to toe the line. The arts community for instance. Lagi best as the money is taxpayer money
