Gong Cheebye Drives His Merz Into Sinkie River! Two People Dead!

I have watched the reenactment of the car coming out of the basement of the that shopping centre by a reporter on the internet, there was a 1st hump to slow the car & it is an upward slope, then there is another hump before exiting...the car went over two humps, up a slope, out of the car park, hit some bushes, a lamp post, a tree & the metal fencing lining the canal & into the river....must be some acceleration for that to happen right? I am sure the CCTV at the underground car park, will show, what had happened..unless by some....it was not turn on or maintained....

According to the report...the car belong to the deceased brother..not the husband...or ? you know, all these business people, their cars are never registered under their names...their mother, sister, father, brother, servant....driver etc....I use to read some court cases in the past...or those who know..will know...

There is a LACKED safety feature - a strong safety barrier at where the bush is. To block any car from dashing like that from exit into river.

SUE VALLEY POINT!

The Valley Point carpark is haunted ?

Why did they have hurried to get out of the place and completely lost their sense of bearing ?

When a person drives like this, he or she is no longer looking at the road in front of him. She is frightened stiff and just want to get away as fast as she can.

Someone should go into the carpark to bust the ghost.

This is not as good as what I needed to illustrate my point, but I don't have a better pic.

My WARNING IS: It is easy to happen, and I had seen it myself. A car mat can bet seriously CRUMPLED and JAMS ACCELERATOR into totally uncontrollable mode, car just run by itself, if you stepped breaks, you are also stepping harder on accelerator in that case.

Just imagine from the above picture that driver's foot actually kicked the mat towards the front bit by bit every time, until about 30-40 cm of the mat's length is folded double triple or four layers, or rolled up into a roll, and then jammed below the break panel and above the accelerator That's it! You are set for BIG FUCKING SURPRISE.

Unless you disengage the gear into N or P, or turn off the engine key, ASAP, you are fucked.

Yes they should have some safety barrier for the whole stretch of road next to canal.

What superstitious nonsense. It's not uncommon for lady drivers to slam on accelerator instead of brake in case of emergency. Once that happens, she would freeze with her foot stuck onto the accelerator. It has happened time and again everywhere.

why don't you say if they drain the canal and filled it up with dirt, they could still be alive today.

Two dead after car plunges into Alexandra Canal:

Mother and daughter were shopping before accident

bodymain_0.jpg

The two bodies retrieved after a car plunged into the canal along Delta Avenue are that of a mother and daughter.

They have been identified as Madam Yep Lay Choo, 51, and her daughter, Ms Kimberly Poon, 22.

Stomper David sent photos of the incident that happened at about 9pm last night (Jan 24) via Stomp's WhatsApp.

The Stomper previously reported that it might be a man and a woman, but newer reports indicate that they are mother and daughter instead.

According to Chinese newspaper Lianhe Zaobao, the two women were both long-haired and fair-skinned. One wore a T-shirt with black and white stripes.

According to The Straits Times, the silver Mercedes emerged from the carpark of Valley Point Shopping Centre in River Valley Road at around 9pm.

It drove straight into the bushes next to Alexandra Canal before hitting the water.

A 33-year-old eye witness said, "I heard a loud bang as the car hit the barrier before it went straight into the canal."

The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force arrived shortly after, as about 200 people gathered near the canal and the mall to see what was happening.

Stomper Anishar sent in a video of rescue personnel in action, trying to retrieve the bodies from the canal.

Investigations are ongoing.

Madam Yep's husband, Mr Robin Poon, 50, who runs a car repair business, said he did not know what had caused this unfortunate accident.

"I'm just lost," he told The Straits Times.

He was at the morgue on Monday morning with relatives to collect the victims' bodies.

Mr Poon said the family had gone for lunch in the afternoon at an Italian restaurant at Hotel Vagabond in Syed Alwi Road, followed by a foot massage.

They then went their separate ways for dinner as Mr Poon had an appointment.

"That was the last I saw them," he said.

Madam Yep, who worked in human resource, and Ms Poon, a student and their only daughter, went for dinner at Valley Point Shopping Centre. The duo took the family car, a silver Mercedes E250.

Madam Yep's brother, Mr Yep Tai Sai, 54, said CCTV footage from the mall showed the two walking happily in the carpark carrying grocery bags.

"They were smiling and walking, nothing was wrong," said Mr Yep.
