Goh Jin Hian was charged with three other men linked to New Silkroutes Group, including a former chief corporate officer and a former finance director.

SINGAPORE: Goh Jin Hian, the former chief executive officer of investment holding company New Silkroutes Group, was charged on Wednesday (Sep 20) with false trading offences.

The 54-year-old, who is the son of former Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong, was handed 39 charges under the Securities and Futures Act.

He was charged along with three other men linked to New Silkroutes: Kelvyn Oo Cheong Kwan, 52, former executive director and chief corporate officer at New Silkroutes; 54-year-old William Teo Thiam Chuan, a former finance director at the group; and 40-year-old Huang Yiwen, a commercial market maker engaged by New Silkroutes.

In a news release after the hearing, the police said the charges arose from a joint investigation by the police's Commercial Affairs Department and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Goh Jin Hian, the son of former Singapore Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong, was among four people charged Wednesday with false trading offenses, Channel News Asia reported.

The 54-year-old ex-chief executive officer of investment holding company New Silkroutes Group Ltd., Goh stands accused of conspiring with three other men linked to the firm for creating a misleading appearance of the price of its securities on 31 trading days between February and August of 2018, according to the report.

Goh is also accused of pushing up the price of the company’s securities by placing orders and executing trades using his bank investment account. He was handed 39 charges under the Securities and Futures Act, while the three other men each received 31 similar charges.

Jin has programmed and presented various quality arts events including art exhibitions, festivals and a fundraising concert (eg. Expressions of Self: An Exhibition of Southeast Asian Artists; An Exhibition of Paintings by Shan Fan and Chua Ek Kay; Jazz Singapore; Singapore Uncovered Arts Festival 2004 & 2007 editions). She was a creative team member on projects with London School of Economics (Southeast Asian Center) and Singapore Art Museum. Jin studied English and American Literature and Film (BA Hons, UEA) and International Relations (MA, Warwick).

I find it odd. Goh Chok Tong used to be the chairman of MAS and u can find Singapore currency with Goh Chok Tong signature.

Years later and now Goh Jin Hian breaks MAS insider trading rule ? Oh boy, this is a criminal offence which involves public prosecution . 很够力的 会死人的
